One of South Austin’s best attributes is its proximity to downtown. South Austin has easy access to downtown from just about any neighborhood. It's a very unique area of Austin with a very diverse culture and equally diverse neighborhoods. Neighborhoods like Barton Hills, which has a more original Austin feel, to Circle C Ranch, which is one of South Austin’s newer developments (1980’s) that was once considered to be on the edge of town, is today one of South Austin’s premier neighborhoods that is still growing.
