In August 2006, state accountability ratings were issued by the Texas Education Agency. Austin Independent School District earned an Academically Acceptable rating as a district, and 29 campuses earned Exemplary or Recognized ratings, up from 21 the previous year. AISD’s distinguished campuses for 2006 are: Exemplary: Baranoff, Casis, Doss, Highland Park, Kiker, and Lee elementary schools.
